Terms & Conditions
These terms frame how this desk quotes and sells. They do not replace a signed sales contract. Where the two differ, the contract governs.
Quotations
- A quotation is valid for the period stated on it, and is offered subject to prior sale and to final confirmation by the desk.
- Prices are quoted against a named grade, quantity, packing, load port and incoterm. Change any one of those and the price changes.
Specification
- The figures published on this site are a typical export specification for each grade. They are indicative.
- The binding specification is the one written into the sales contract, together with the certificate of analysis issued for your cargo before shipment.
- Where an independent surveyor is appointed, the surveyor's pre-shipment result is the reference figure.
Delivery terms
- Sales are written FOB, CFR or CIF under Incoterms 2020. The named port is agreed per contract.
- Title and risk pass as the agreed incoterm provides.
- Load port is nominated by the desk against your destination, unless the contract names one.
Packing
Polypropylene bags of 50 kg, jumbo bags of 1 MT, or loose in bulk. Packing is agreed before the contract is signed because it affects both price and load rate.
Payment
Payment terms are agreed per contract and stated in it. The desk does not publish standing payment terms, because they depend on the counterparty, the quantity and the destination.
Inspection
Inspection by an independent surveyor can be arranged at the load port on request. Who appoints the surveyor and who carries the cost is agreed in the contract.
Documents
Each shipment travels with a certificate of analysis, a certificate of origin and the bill of lading, plus any further documents named by your letter of credit or your import authority.
Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events outside its reasonable control, including port closure, berth congestion, export restriction, or interruption at the producing mill. The affected party notifies the other without delay.
Governing law
Contracts are governed by the law named in the contract. Where none is named, the law of the Arab Republic of Egypt applies.
