Build Your Business Card
Your business card is your shareable digital identity. You start by choosing a design, not by choosing a card type, and the only thing you have to write is a title. Everything else can wait until after the card exists.
Create a business card
Click New Business Card on the dashboard, or open Business Cards and click Create new. Both go to the same place: Choose a design, a single page that shows every design in the catalogue on a laptop and a phone. There is no card type to pick first.
The gallery has a search field with a keyboard shortcut, filter chips for type, light or dark, live demo and industry, and a Check live Demo button on every design that has a demo card behind it. The Choose a Design guide walks through all of it. Two things are worth knowing before you pick: a design badged Basic sections only shows contact details and links and nothing else, and a WhatsApp Store design starts a store rather than a business card.
Click a design to open the create form with that design already applied. The design is also what decides which sections your editor will offer, which is why you are not asked to choose a card type by hand any more. Changed your mind on the form? Choose a theme on its left swaps the design without leaving the page.
Title is the only field you must fill: your business name or your own name. Personalized Link, Sub Title and Description are all optional. Leave the link empty and one is created for you; type your own and the page checks while you type that it is still free. You can mix English and Arabic in any field, for example
Aurora Studio | استوديو أورورا.The Logo field is optional as well, and the cover starts on No cover. Both are covered below. Then click Save. You are not dropped into the editor any more: the card you just made appears on a screen of its own, with its link, its QR code and a share action.
Cover type: photo, YouTube or Vimeo
Above the cover image is a Cover type selector, and it starts on No cover, because a card does not need one to go live. Choose Photo to upload and crop a still image, or pick a video cover: YouTube Video, YouTube Video - Autoplay, Vimeo Video or Vimeo Video - Autoplay. For a video, you paste the link in the matching format (e.g.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=…orhttps://vimeo.com/…).The two Autoplay variants start the video on their own when the card opens. As the note under the selector puts it, *“You can add a cover later. Autoplay video is muted by the browser.”* So an autoplay cover always plays silently, and skipping the cover now costs you nothing: you can set or change it any time from the Basic Details section, see the Business Card Sections guide.
Card language
When the platform offers more than one language, the create form shows a Language selector. This sets the card's primary language, the language its labels and your default copy appear in.
You are never locked to one language, though. Most fields have an Arabic twin (Title (AR), Sub Title (AR), Description (AR), and so on) that you fill from the editor, and turning on the language switcher lets visitors flip the public card between English and Arabic. Your logo, or the mark we make for you
The Logo field is optional. If you have a square logo file, upload it. The note beside the field asks for a 1:1 image, for example 512 by 512 pixels, as a JPG or PNG.
If you upload nothing, ScaanMe draws a mark for you from the initials of your Title and stores it exactly where an uploaded logo would go. The form says so under the field: *No logo yet? We make one from your initials.* Your card never goes live with an empty avatar, and nothing further down the line can tell the two apart, so the same mark is what appears on your wallet pass, in the contact a visitor saves to their phone, and as the app icon if someone installs your card.
The generated mark is a floor, not a verdict. Replace it whenever you like: open the card editor, go to Basic Details, upload your real logo in the Logo field and press Save. The public card shows the new one straight away.
Only Title is required on this form. The personalized link, the logo, the cover and the description can all stay empty and be filled in later from the editor. Leave the link blank and ScaanMe creates a clean one for you, as the hint under the field says.
Your card is ready
Saving does not drop you straight into a form. It opens a screen headed Your business card is ready, showing a live preview of the card and the line *This is what someone sees when they open your link.* Press the preview and the real card opens in a new tab, exactly the way a visitor gets it.
Under Your link is your public address. Copy link puts it on the clipboard and confirms with *Link copied*, WhatsApp opens a message with the link already written, and Share my card hands it to your phone's own share sheet.
Or let them scan it shows the QR code for the same link. Point a phone camera at it and the card opens. This is the code to put on a poster, a menu, a shop window or the back of a printed card.
The screen also counts how many times the card has been opened, and says plainly that *Opens from this browser are not counted*, so checking your own link does not inflate the number.
There are two ways on. Add your details takes you into the section editor to fill the card in, documented section by section in Business Card Sections. Go to my cards returns to the list. What happens after I click Save? The card you just made appears on its own screen, headed Your business card is ready, with the card itself, your live link, buttons to Share my card, Copy link or send it on WhatsApp, and the QR code under Or let them scan it. A counter shows how many times the link has been opened, and it does not count your own opens. From there, Add your details opens the section editor and Go to my cards returns to the list. The card is already live before you do either.
Can I use a video as my cover instead of a photo? Yes. The Cover type selector starts on No cover, and you can choose Photo, YouTube Video, YouTube Video - Autoplay, Vimeo Video or Vimeo Video - Autoplay and paste the matching link. Autoplay covers always play silently because the browser mutes them, and you can add or change the cover later from the Basic Details section.
