How to Add Payment Links to Your Digital Business Card (MENA Payment Methods)

Most professionals in the Middle East handle payment conversations via WhatsApp: "How much?" followed by a bank transfer number, a pay link, or instructions for a regional payment app. This friction costs sales. Every extra step between "I want to buy" and "payment confirmed" loses a percentage of buyers.

Adding payment links directly to your digital card removes several of those steps.

How Payment Links Work on Scaanme

Scaanme does not process payments between you and your customers. Instead, you add payment links as buttons or links within your card profile. Customers see your products or services, decide to buy, and tap your payment link, which takes them directly to your payment gateway, bank transfer instruction page, or regional payment app.

The important distinction: Scaanme takes zero commission on sales. You display your payment infrastructure; customers pay you directly.

How to Set Up Payment Links on Your Card

Option 1: Link Button to Payment Gateway

Most regional payment gateways (PayTabs, Paymob, Tap Payments) let you generate a payment link for a fixed amount or a custom-amount page.

  1. Log into your payment gateway
  2. Create a "payment link" or "payment page" with your product/service
  3. Copy the generated URL
  4. In Scaanme, add it as a link button labeled "Pay Now" or "Purchase [Service Name]"

Option 2: WhatsApp Store + Manual Payment

For businesses without a payment gateway, this flow works:

  1. Customer browses your WhatsApp store
  2. Selects items and sends the order via WhatsApp
  3. You send your payment details (IBAN, STC Pay ID, Fawry code)
  4. Customer pays and sends confirmation screenshot

This is less automated but works for any business, even without a gateway account.

Option 3: Specific Amount Payment Links

Some gateways allow you to pre-set specific package prices as individual links:

ServicePriceLink Label
Consultation (60 min)200 SAR"Book & Pay Consultation"
Design Package A500 SAR"Purchase Design Package"
Monthly Retainer1,500 SAR/mo"Start Monthly Retainer"

Each button links to the corresponding payment page. Customer pays, you get notified, you deliver the service.

Reducing Payment Friction

The average payment conversation in the Middle East takes 3-7 messages: request for price, quote, payment method inquiry, instructions, confirmation of receipt, and start of service. A payment link on your digital card can compress this to:

  1. Customer sees price on card
  2. Customer taps payment button
  3. Customer pays
  4. You receive notification
  5. Service starts

That is five steps instead of 15+, and critically, it happens without you being awake or available.

Practical Example: Freelance Designer in Riyadh

A freelance UI/UX designer in Riyadh has three service packages listed on her Scaanme card:

  • Landing page design: 800 SAR, linked to a PayTabs payment page
  • Logo package: 1,200 SAR, linked to a PayTabs payment page
  • Brand identity: 3,500 SAR, linked to "Book a scoping call" (calendar booking)

The third package requires a discovery call before payment because the scope varies. The first two are fixed scope and can be purchased directly.

This setup means 60-70% of her clients pay without a phone call.
